First Halloween and Thanksgiving!

Kelly Anne is growing up so fast! It's hard to believe she will be 6 months old next weekend! Her first Halloween was fun, she was such a cute bumblebee and ladybug! It is Thanksgiving week and we are getting geared up for our road trips to Flemingsburg and Northern Kentucky!
Tomorrow Kelly goes for her 6 month check-up and shots. Can't wait to see how much she has grown since her 4 month appointment. She started eating rice cereal this month and enjoys eating from a spoon. Veggies will be on her menu soon!

5 months old!?!?!

Can you believe Kelly Anne is already 5 months old? Doug and I can't! She is growing each day and is really fun. She loves standing in our laps (us holding under her arms of course) and bouncing. She is laughing and smiling a lot more. Her neck problem (not turning her head to the left) is much better, the physical therapist released her since she can now turn from side to side while on her back and tummy! She had her first x-ray today, we visited the pediatric plastic surgeon at UK Clinic. They wanted to take and x-ray her skull to see if the flat side of her head had shifted anything inside. He said the photos looked good, and to keep her off of the flat side as much as possible before the next appointment in December.
Kelly is quite the sleeper! She sleeps around 10 hours a night! Very nice for her Daddy who gets her up in the mornings while I am already at school. :) She's a good little girl! We think we are going to keep her!

She's like a weed!

It's been awhile! Baby Kelly is growing like a weed! Last month she grew out of her newborn clothes and diapers. :( Sad day putting them away. Where does the time go?? She got her 2 month shots at the end of July and was a champ. We found a wonderful babysitter named Jaclyn who will watch Kelly on Tuesdays and Thursdays this school year. My mom will watch her on Mondays and Wednesdays and Doug will stay home with her and work from home on Fridays. Once all that was settled I had to get to school and set up my classroom. Before I knew it-time for school! I just finished up my first 3 day week. Looking forward to a 4 day week next week. Don't like leaving the little one, but she is in good hands. She is starting to get on a nap schedule to help her sitters out during the day. She is still sleeping around 7.5 hours a night. Her personality is really showing right now, as she laughs & coos at us. So cute! We had her first photo shoot last month, it went pretty well when she wasn't sticking her tongue out! She is still visiting the physical therapist for her neck problems. She is doing great with her neck exercises and her range of motion has drastically improved! Hope everyone is well, come see us!

1 month already?!

Can you believe Kelly Anne is already one month old? Doug and I can't believe it! She had her 1 month doctor's appointment and she now weighs 9 lbs. 7 oz. and is 22 1/8 inches long! We have had a busy month visiting with family and friends and getting settled in at home. We have also gotten to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays. This past weekend we took our first road trip. Doug and I went to the Reds game with Beth and Brad and dropped Kelly off with her grandparents in Northern Kentucky. We hope July is just as fun! :)
I hope you have gotten a chance to meet Kelly, if not then come and visit!

The time has come!

After long discussions with the doctor yesterday Doug and I (with her input) have decided to induce labor. We are going to the hospital tonight at 9:00 and will try and get some sleep before they start getting things rolling in the morning.
My doctor should get there at around 8:00 in the morning and we will play the waiting game some more! :) Doug and I are getting really good at waiting!! Regardless, Kelly Anne will arrive tomorrow! We are so excited and can't believe it! We are praying for a safe delivery and a healthy Kelly, please keep us in your prayers as well. Next time you hear from us Kelly should have made her appearance!
I am ready to pack up the car, wondering what we have forgotten to pack....Doug is playing golf by himself to calm his nerves and have some alone time before his life changes for good. I am finishing up report cards!

The waiting game....

So Doug and I are getting really good at playing the waiting game. I wake up each day wondering, "Is today the day?" Last Tuesday we went to the doctor. Baby Kelly had a strong heartbeat and is still making her way out SLOWLY! I am starting to get more and more uncomfortable and sleeping has become difficult, but I guess it will be good practice! I have not been at school, which is really helping with my feet and ankles.
Doug and I go back to the doctor in a few hours. Hope to have more information about her arrival!
Check back soon for updates! :)

It's getting closer!

I went back to the doctor on Tuesday. I am progressing very well. Looks like she will be here on or before Thursday, May 27th! So two more weeks!! Will post again after my appointment this coming Tuesday!
The nursery has already had a change! The furniture and all wall hangings were moved around last night in a different formation...still looks great, but seems bigger with the new arrangement.
Baby Kelly's bag is packed for the hospital. Doug's bag has been packed for weeks. I, on the other hand, have not even started! My doctor told me I needed to pack a bag when I left her office on Tuesday, but I still haven't! It's on my super long to-do list!
I have 2 more days of school, then I am taking off. Monday is my last day of teaching. I am going to miss my little kiddos. Apparently they are having me a baby shower/going away party tomorrow (it's a surprise, but 5 students have told me and told me that I am not allowed to tell). :)

We have a nursery!

After a busy few weeks of putting an offer on a house, counter-offering, etc. we have decided to stay in our townhouse. As soon as that decision was decided we purchased our furniture for the nursery! Also during that time we were blessed to have 4 baby showers thrown for Kelly Anne. She already has a full closet of clothes! Thanks to my Dad and brother for moving our old furniture out (and my parents for storing it) and Dad for painting the nursery! When the paint dried Doug and Dad brought in the dresser and recliner. This past Friday night Aunt Amy came to town to help Doug put together the crib (thanks sooo much Amy). On Saturday Anna Claire tried the crib out by bouncing and laying in it. Seems nice and sturdy! It is finished and looks great! The nursery is ready for Kelly Anne!!
We went to the doctor last Wednesday, our doctor was finally back from her maternity leave. The heartbeat was good, she's a little concerned about my swollen ankles and feet so told me to try and sit down during the day as much as possible (very hard to do). She also thinks I might be measuring a little early, so we will see!
We go back to see her on Tuesday morning for my 37 week appointment. Will keep you updated! Feel free to come see the nursery! :)

Kelly Anne is a kicker!

Hello!! We have not blogged in awhile because we were unsure if anyone was checking it out. After a few mentions from people wondering when we would update our blog, here it is! Kelly Anne seems to be doing well. She is quite the kicker! She loves to kick and move at around 4:00am! Let's just hope that she doesn't keep that time up after she is born! :) We go back to the doctor tomorrow, and will go back every other Tuesday until I reach the 36 week mark. I will be 30 weeks tomorrow! As Lexington Catholic's season and the State Tournament came and went I finally got Doug to Target yesterday to register for baby Kelly. I think he might be feeling a little overwhelmed about how much is needed to raise a baby!!
A note about our townhome. We still have it up for sale by owner, and have shown it 3times in the last 2 weeks. Two of those people made an offer, but both offers were too low. We made a counter-offer, but have not settled yet. So, for the time being we are still in our townhouse. Will be looking for a storage unit if it does not get sold before Kelly Anne makes her debut! :)
Hope you are doing well!

Snowed in...

Doug and I are snowed in today!! Both of us home at the same time is very rare during basketball season. He was supposed to be traveling to Pendleton County today, but the games were cancelled. We are going to watch the UK game and relax (Ok, I might be doing some online shopping for the nursery accessories too). We picked bedding for the baby's nursery!! Excited about the colors, which are shades of purple and brown. We head back to the doctor a week from Tuesday! Let us know what you think of the bedding. Hope everyone is staying warm!

It's a GIRL!!

After hearing good news about our last blood test (we did the AFP test) we were waiting patiently for our next ultrasound. Well, it came and baby Grieme is a GIRL!!! After a long ultrasound we found that all looked great! The heartrate was low during the ultrasound, but the doctor rechecked it after the ultrasound when we met with her and it was normal. I have not gained weight yet, so I am on strict orders to get eating! I am currently off to Kroger to load up on protein filled foods. We are throwing names around, will pick soon! :)

Christmas Time!!

Our traveling plans were the same as Thanksgiving. On Christmas Eve we headed to Flemingsburg. We attended church and had a wonderful dinner prepared by Mom Clark. Anna Claire entertained us all while opening her gifts. We then spent the night and Santa showed up Christmas morning!! We headed to Northern Kentucky in the afternoon for more food and fun! It was good to spend time with everyone. Baby Grieme is not making Mom as sick anymore, so traveling was easy!
